The cellist Gergely Devich is a 22 year old student of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Budapest, studying under Professor László Mező and István Varga. He has studied in several masterclasses including those of Adrian Brendel and György Pauk. In 2014 he won third prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians in Cologne, representing Hungary. In 2015 and 2018 he had recitals in the Liszt Academy and Solti Hall. As a soloist he has played with, amongt others. the Budapest Festival Orchestra with Ivan Fischer, Concerto Budapest Orchestra with András Keller, and theHungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra with Tamás VásáryIn 2020 in Müpa he played Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with Maxim Vengerov, Fülöp Ránki and MÁV Symphony Orchestra.
He won the Junior Prime Prize and Cziffra Talent Prize; his first CD was published by Hungaroton in 2015. He has played several concerts on Radio Bartók. In 2019 with Korossy Quartet, he won first prize in the Leó Weiner Chamber Music Competition in Budapest.He has played chamber music with Nicolas Altstaedt, Maxim Rysanov, Zoltán Kocsis, and Marta Gulyás, amongst others. He has played in Mláda Praha Festival and Bratislava Music Festival, in Kaposfest and Cziffra Festivals.
