The Kapralova Quartet, (Veronika Panochova -1st violin, Simona Hurnikova -2nd violin, Karolina Strasilova - viola, Simona Hecova -violoncello), named after the Czech composer Vitezslava Kapralova [1915-1940], was founded in 1995. The critically acclaimed ensemble has a broad repertoire which includes, besides classical works, a number of important compositions of the twentieth century, including the complete quartets of Alfred Schnittke, which they have recorded for Arco Diva. The ensemble has recorded for radio and television, and their recordings of Dvorak, Smetana, Kapralova, Suk, Brahms and Tchaikovsky have been released on CD. The ensemble regularly performs abroad, and has delighted audiences in many countries including France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Japan, Israel, Cyprus, and Canada. The ensemble regularly collaborates with the Skampa Quartet, the Prazak Quartet, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and many other musicians and ensembles.
