Avishai Chaimedes

Avishai Chameides  was born in Ramat-Gan, Israel, in 1985. At the age of 6 years, he received his first violin lessons. Moving to viola, In 2001 he continued his studies at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan. In 2007 he studied at the University of Arts with Prof. Greiner in Berlin, where he graduated in 2011. Avishai Chameides is the violist in the Noga Quartet. This is his second appearance at the Levoča Festival; in 2009 he played the solo part in Berlioz's 'Harold in Italy' in Liszt's transcription, with Tomasz Kamieniak at the piano. At the 2016 Festival, Avishai plays Mozart quintets with the Kodály Quartet, and gives a recital with the cellist Jozef Lupták which includes the world premieres of two pieces written specially for him.
